A Flapless LASIK Alternative

Advanced Surface Ablation (ASA), also known as Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK), is a bladeless LASIK alternative that does not use any sharp instruments and does not create a corneal flap typical of traditional LASIK Plano.

PRK is effective in patients with thinner corneas, minor corneal irregularities, or for patients with specific occupations/hobbies such as contact sports. It has been shown to provide results that are as good as LASIK.

How it Works

This procedure begins with the gentle removal of the epithelial tissue (the tissue covering the cornea) using a “soft brush”. Afterwards, your vision is corrected in the same manner as with LASIK. Using the same excimer lasers, the outer surface of the eye is reshaped to correct your nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. After the laser has fully reshaped the eye, a special contact lens is placed to protect the cornea while the epithelium heals underneath.

Who is a Candidate?

A good candidate for PRK is typically someone in their 20s or 30s who is seeking a safe and effective alternative to glasses or contacts, and would benefit from this LASIK alternative.

Is it Safe?

PRK is gentle and just as safe as LASIK. Based on your eyes and lifestyle, PRK may be the better option for you. We will always do what is best for your health and vision!

Popular Benefits

Safety for contact sports and active military service

Minimal removal of your body’s natural tissue

Increased rate of candidacy for those with thin corneas

A Faster Way to See

SMILE (Small Incision LASIK) is the latest laser vision correction option available in the U.S. SMILE is performed with one of the same lasers used for LASIK but with a different technique that leaves the surface of the cornea almost untouched, allowing for a quick recovery and maximum comfort. The treatment is so comfortable that most people say they feel only the slightest pressure, and they consistently describe SMILE as painless and very comfortable both during and after the procedure. ClearSight is the only center in Oklahoma offering SMILE.

How it Works

The SMILE procedure is performed using only one laser. During treatment, the laser gently creates a thin, contact-lens shaped layer (called a ‘lenticule’) just beneath the surface of the eye. The lenticule is removed through a tiny opening, also made by the laser. This changes the overall shape of the cornea, thereby correcting your vision.

Who is a Candidate?

We usually recommend SMILE for patients with nearsightedness, with or without astigmatism, who are 18-42 years old, or as a part of the treatment plan for those age 43 and over.

Is it Safe?

Over 4 million SMILE procedures have been performed worldwide. We love the safety of SMILE because it leaves most of the top corneal layers intact.

Popular Benefits

 Quicker recovery and maximum comfort

You can get back to normal life sooner with lesschance of dry eye

Great for athletes in contact sports

SMILE requires only one laser, so it is a fast andcomfortable procedure

Designed to reduce or eliminate your need for glassesor contacts

Technology Matters

Like other technologies, Vision Correction has evolved greatly in recent years. We are now able to address a wider range of visual issues and treat patients who were previously thought to be untreatable. With three unique lasers we can customize a treatment for every patient. Each laser is the most advanced available in its class. Combined with the very latest in diagnostic equipment and software, our lasers are able to give most of our patients better than 20/20 vision. We are the first center in Oklahoma with this range of technology. We are also very proud to be the first center in the state of Oklahoma to offer the SMILE procedure to our patients!

This is Not Your Parents LASIK

Customized All-Laser LASIK is the next evolution of vision correction and has become the most effective elective procedure in the world. All-Laser LASIK is used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Additionally, we can now treat small imperfections in your cornea to give you better day and night vision than your glasses or contacts ever could.

The procedure is performed in minutes, and recovery is quick. Most of our patients are seeing 20/20 or better by the next day and are back to their normal activities soon after!

How it Works

Customized All-Laser LASIK is a quick and comfortable three-step procedure. Using the very latest in laser technology, we first create a precise natural bandage, also known as a flap, on the surface of your eye. In the second step, another laser gently reshapes the surface of your eye underneath the natural bandage to bring the world into better focus. Finally, the natural bandage is returned, and your vision is corrected!

Who is a Candidate?

We usually recommend All-Laser LASIK for patients with nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism who are 18-42 years old, or as a part of the treatment plan for those age 43 and over.

Is it Safe?

All-Laser LASIK is widely considered to be very safe. This procedure has been performed over 40 million times worldwide, and has a very low risk of complications.

High-Powered Correction

The Visian ICL is an advanced vision correction treatment technology and LASIK alternative for those patients with moderate to severe nearsightedness, astigmatism, dry eyes, thin corneas or any combination of these issues. Simply put, Visian ICL is a BETTER option than LASIK for many people.

The lens used in this procedure is a lot like a regular contact lens, but unlike contact lenses, it’s completely maintenance-free. Best of all, the recovery is quick and you can see improvements in your vision almost immediately.

How it Works

To correct your vision, the advanced Collamer lens is inserted into your eye, in front of the natural lens but behind the iris, so it is invisible to anyone looking at you. The lens corrects your prescription and has you seeing clearly – without glasses or contacts.

Who is a Candidate?

A good candidate for the Visian ICL is typically someone with a higher degree of nearsightedness (myopia), with or without astigmatism, or patients with thin corneas. Age is less of a factor for this procedure, but if you have been told you are not a candidate for LASIK in the past, this may be the perfect procedure for you!

Is it Safe?

Visian ICL has a great track record, with over 1 million performed to date in 63 different countries. The procedure is also reversible; the lens can be removed at any time and does not permanently change the shape or structure of the eye.

Popular Benefits

With ICL, we are able to treat levels of nearsightedness that far exceed the limits of LASIK.

The quality of vision has been shown in several studies to be as good as or better than LASIK for high prescriptions.

It is quick, virtually painless, and the results are immediate.

It’s removable should your prescription CHANGE or other vision needs arise.

ICL Technology

With the Implantable Collamer Lens technology, we are now able to treat levels of nearsightedness that were previously thought to be untreatable.

The Visian ICL is made from Collamer, an exclusive technologically advanced lens material. Because of the collagen in Collamer, it is bio-compatible with the eye, creates clear, sharp vision, and provides built-in UV protection.

Each patient’s lenses are hand-selected and customized by the surgeon to ensure the best possible results. This procedure can also be combined with a LASIK treatment if we find that it will further improve results.

Here Are Some More Facts About Our Procedures

LASIKOf the more than 10,000,000 Americans who have had LASIK since the 90’s, experienced surgeons have reported a less than 3% complication rate. Those complications were mostly related to quality of vision issues such as dry eyes and reduced night vision, and even these issues have significantly improved with advances in technology. Studies show that there is more risk from prolonged use of contacts than something going wrong during the LASIK procedure.

ICLVisian ICL is FDA approved and has been extensively researched around the world. It has an excellent track record, with over 1,000,000 procedures done and a satisfaction rate of over 99%. This technology has been available for over 15 years

SMILEOver 4 million SMILE procedures have been performed worldwide. We love the safety of SMILE because it leaves most of the top corneal layers intact allowing for faster recovery and maximum comfort.

These Are Some Of The Questions We Get The Most From Prospective Patients

Does it hurt?

We are glad to say that all of our procedures are virtually painless. We will provide you with everything you need to calm your nerves and keep you comfortable throughout your time with us.

How much will my procedure cost?

Your treatment is based on your unique visual needs, so pricing varies. At your exam we will give you a custom quote for your recommended treatment. We will also explain our low monthly payment options, which we offer for all of our procedures.

Will I still have to wear glasses?

Our goal is to get you out of glasses completely. That is why we offer our 20/20 or it’s FREE guarantee – if you aren’t seeing 20/20 or better after your procedure, we will refund your entire procedure cost.

Will LASIK get cheaper?

As technology continues to improve, so does ClearSight. We are dedicated to using the most advanced lasers to give you the best results. A common misconception is that LASIK will get cheaper, but as our technology improves our prices could increase.

What if my doctor has told me I’m not a candidate for LASIK?

We are able to help 95% of people who walk through our doors. We offer multiple procedures to make sure we can help almost everyone, including individuals who may have been told no in the past. The best way to find out if you are a candidate is to come in for your free exam.

When will I be able to see? When can I go back to work?

Most patients see an improvement immediately after their procedure, and even better results the next morning. It depends on your procedure and your type of employment, but we expect most patients to be driving the very next day, and back at work a day or two later.

Which procedure is right for me?

Overwhelmed with research? Our Patient Care Coordinators are ready to help you navigate all your options. Give us a call at 405-722-2020. Prefer to research on your own? You can read more about all of our procedures HERE, or take a quick SELF TEST to find out which procedure might be the best for you.

Can LASIK get rid of readers and bifocals?

While LASIK is a fantastic procedure that corrects your distance vision, it can not help with readers and bifocals. Don’t worry though, we can still help! Next door, our sister practice 43Vision specializes in correction solutions for patients who want to get rid of readers and bifocals. Learn more at their website: 43VISION.COM

What are the risks? Are your procedures safe?

Nothing in life is risk free, and the same is true for all medical procedures. But studies have shown that vision correction procedures including LASIK, ICL, SMILE & PRK are actually safer than wearing contacts over time. Most of our staff, including every one of our surgeons, has had vision correction with great results and no major complications.

What does the 20/20 guarantee really mean?

Our 20/20 Money Back Guarantee means that if you have 20/20 vision with your glasses or contacts, we’ll help you achieve 20/20 vision without them after your procedure with us. If not, we’ll refund your fee in full. This Money Back Guarantee exists to assure you that you’ll achieve the vision you want. This guarantee is offered on all LASIK, SMILE, PRK, and Visian ICL procedures performed at ClearSight. See our written vision plans for full details.

The Most Advanced Eye Exam In The US

Exam Technology

For most people, the thought of an eye exam is about as pleasant as going to the dentist – with the puffs, drops, poking and prodding. At ClearSight in Piano, we’ve invested in the most state-of-the-art digital exam equipment available to make your exam as easy and pleasant as possible. The benefits of our technology are hard to beat:

BETTER ACCURACY – We employ multiple wavefront measurement systems as well as multiple corneal mapping systems (most centers only have one). The result is a more thorough level of diagnosis and information to apply to your treatment.

PRIOR TO OUR EXAM YOU DON’T NEED TO BE OUT OF CONTACTS – Most centers make you stay out of your contacts for up to 2 weeks just to find out if you’re a candidate. Our technology lets you wear your contacts into the exam. (You’ll still need to be out of your contacts before treatment.)
