Make the future yours!
Pattern testing for point of impact (POI) is essential for serious shotgun shooters. If your gun doesn’t place the shot charge exactly where you’re aiming, you’ll never get truly consistent results—and the only way to correct this is on a pattern board.
This app helps you quickly and accurately calculate the POI percentage of your shot above or below your aim point.
Set the correct POI for your discipline:
Olympic Trap typically requires a 60/40 to 70/30 POI, DTL/ABT often works best at 80/20, while Sporting and Skeet are usually around 50/50.
Check for left/right bias:
Ensure stock fit: Detect any significant shift of pellets to the left or right caused by incorrect stock dimensions.
Compare cartridge performance:
Optimize loads: Evaluate different cartridge brands and loads to find the best combination for your shotgun and chosen discipline.
Capture and process directly in the app:
Built-in image tools: Take a photo from within the app, crop out unwanted surroundings, process the POI, and save the image for future reference.
Guided workflow:
Step-by-step instructions: A clear, in-app guide walks you through the entire process from setup to POI calculation.
Prepare the target:
Use a blank white A0 sheet (118 cm × 84 cm) and draw a black circle in the center using a clay target as a template.
Mount the paper:
Stick the paper on a pattern board or a flat wall at your chosen test distance.
Shoot and capture:
Fire your test shots, then use the app to photograph the pattern, crop, and analyze the POI.
3) Go back 36m ( 40 yards) from the pattern board , mount and shoot at the black circle ( sight on the black circle ).
4) Go close to the pattern board and take a picture of the pattern in LANDSCAPE mode.
5) Use the App Chop feature to remove unwanted surroundings.
6) Load the Chopped picture in the Main page and press the Arrow button.
7) The POI and the divergence % are shown in the bottom bar. If the Variance is in the negative, then the pattern is x% to the left.
