This is what I learned about in environmental stewardship this year and this is what I did about it. Below you will also see a slide show that I created.

Clay Grattidge - Environmental Stewardship Project

I understand Environmental Stewardships as acknowledging and understanding the effects that you have on the environment and to act on it. It is important to know what is going on in your environment and to be able to make a difference.

I believe that both water and energy are being used and wasted without any thought of the consequences and effects that they both have on the environment. When people take warm showers they are more likely to stay in them for longer which uses more energy, by taking cold showers it will help the environment, in a couple ways, your hot water heater won't have to run so you will use less electricity, additionally you are likely to spend less time in the shower if its colder, decreasing your water usage. Which in the long run helps to reduce our ecological footprint. I have decided that I will take on the challenge of taking cold showers every day for the next 30 days, starting April 16 and ending May 15. This in return has many benefits not just on the environment but on me as well.

“Climate change is a worldwide problem that will require a big effort to reverse. But every solution doesn't have to happen on a large scale. You can start in your shower.” (TWC Product and Technology ,2021) Some of the many benefits taking cold showers are less energy use and reduced water usage. As well as many personal benefits such as Muscles healing faster, lowering of stress levels and encouraging healthier skin and hair.
