The Province of Ontario's digital elevation model (DEM) is the dataset underlying two series of four NFTs. An NFT is a blockchain asset that is unique, in contrast to conventional money or cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin that exist in many exchangeable and divisible units. NFTs are used in the art world to authenticate creations. The NFT may include the work of art itself, or just serve as a license or certificate of authenticity. The owner of an NFT has the worldwide exclusive right to display or otherwise use the corresponding design, including for commercial purposes. The copyright and intellectual property in the work remain with the creator.

This first set of 1920x1080 designs was posted on the OpenSea marketplace in my "Designed by Nature" collection. The NFTs reside on the Ethereum blockchain. The buyer also has access to unlockable content in the form of very high resolution versions of each NFT.
This second set of circular ornaments was created on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain using the Simple Ledger Protocol (SLP). These NFTs were available on the Juungle marketplace but that site has since been discontinued. The "original" NFT icon consists of the highest resolution artwork.
