Yinghan Xue is the Chinese Language Coordinator and Language Instructional Coach at District of Columbia International School (DCI), a “IB for All” 6-12 public charter school. At DCI, Yinghan taught MYP courses at Middle School and High School, supported curriculum development and IB language program alignment works as the Subject Coordinator for the Language Department, and now dedicates in supporting students and teachers in the Chinese track. Prior joined DCI in 2019, Yinghan taught in the state of Wisconsin for four years, served as the former president of the Wisconsin Association of Chinese Language Teachers and board member at the Wisconsin Association For Language Teachers. As a frequent presenter, panlist and teacher trainer at national, regional, and state conferences, Yinghan holds strong believe in student-centered and inquiry-based learning, cultural competency in language classroom, as well as comprehension and proficiency based language acquisition. Working in the IB context, she has developed deep interest in the alignment and cohenrency of IB language acquisition curriculum and programs.
