MATHEMATICS - PART II
Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with relationships between angles and side lengths of triangles. In particular, the trigonometric functions relate the angles of a right triangle with ratios of its side lengths.
Throughout history, trigonometry has been applied in areas such as geodesy, surveying, celestial mechanics, and navigation. Trigonometry is known for its many identities.
A circle is a plane figure bounded by one curved line, and such that all straight lines drawn from a certain point within it to the bounding line, are equal.
Area of circle = πr. Circumference of circle = 2πr. Length of an arc of a sector = L= (θ/360°)×2πr. Area of a sector of circle = (θ/360°)×πr.
Surface area is a two-dimensional measure, while volume is a three-dimensional measure. Two figures can have the same volume but different surface areas.
Statistics is the discipline that concerns the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data. In applying statistics to a scientific, industrial, or social problem.
Probability is the branch of mathematics concerning events and numerical descriptions of how likely they are to occur. The larger the probability, the more likely an event is to occur.
