Ah what a class we are. Coming of age in the 60's we experienced a time of great change. We watched Coral Gables and South Florida grow from a sleepy southern town to a major metropolitan area. We experienced an expansion of our International cultural awareness with the influx of Cuban immigrants who quickly became our friends, and were an integral part of sports, clubs, music, and parties. We saw the tearing down of racial barriers, first through elimination of "Whites Only" washrooms, water fountains, lunch counters, beaches, and our schools. Once again we were on the front lines of a new appreciation of the diversity of humanity and the opportunity to embrace new cultural experiences and so many more life long friends. How blessed we were.
