If students are not identifying that the classroom is a place where interesting books are readily available, what does literature reveal about what teachers report as their priorities in the selection process for titles in their classroom libraries? Additionally, with students as stakeholders in the classroom library and reporting that the classroom library does not include titles they want to read, to what extent do students participate in book title selection? Finally, how can a classroom library provider, where I am employed, support both teachers and students in practices for effective book title selection that may increase autonomous student reading, and mitigate risk of underachievement in reading?
