I am currently a journalism student at DePaul University. I am the Deputy Managing Editor at DePaul's online magazine, 14 East, as well as a photographer for DePaul's school newspaper, The DePaulia.

I worked on the Chicago Sun-Times voter guide. I cold called political candidates, urging them to fill out a Google Form so that I could format their responses. After that, I would send the layouts to publish.

This is a one-month temporary position at the Chicago Sun-Times. As a temp-Content Auditor, I read every Sun-Times paper from the month of July 2023 and audit the sources to see the diversity demographics. This is to help the Sun-Times determine whether or not their sources are diverse and not from the same couple of groups.

I write, fact check, and edit articles. I wrote about Chicago’s climate inequality and environmental racism within the Chicago neighborhoods. We publish weekly, so I edit or fact check an article at least once a week. I have written for both the 14 East magazine and the newsletter at least once per quarter. I am familiar with AP Style.

At DePaul’s Honors blog, I have a financial column aimed at informing students on different financial issues (ex: budgeting, tax, retirement plans). At DePaul, this counts as a leadership position for the Honors program. Additionally, I write and edit blog posts, as well as create blog graphics for the Honors blog. I use WordPress and Canva for this.

I recruited and interviewed different women (with an emphasis on women of color) in the political field. I then wrote about our interviews and posted the highlights on PIP’s social media and the blog section of the website. As a facilitator, I gained leadership experience by delegating tasks to people in the Speaker Series, such as who would interview, write the blog, do the social media post, etc. I also single-handedly organized a voter drive for my school during this summer internship.
