The Ark's - SeaBnB & Crewcenter

The Ark's - SeaBnB & CrewCenter

Now in Rio de Guadiana, border Spain/Portugal.

Hi guys! I am not getting much takers at all for my The Ark's Project idea , and the once I am getting are young people wanting to get places.. not just live on a boat, travel slowly and take it easy. :-)

So I am not continuing with it in it's present form. The new form will go as follows.

The Ark's - SeaBnB & CrewCenter

This means that I will not advertise at all for going anywhere but will offer people to come and live cheap on board and learn about sailing/cruising life and things connected. While they are looking for other boats - going places. I am very well situated at edge of Europe Atlantic and loads of boats take of from this area. Sooner or later even I will take off with crew that I have found via working like this.

Below you find info on the project as it is planned and where I am heading. But until I have found the right people and the all the boats are ready for sea I will offer SeaBnB & CrewCenter for a small fee.

Hi, I have three boats in the Rio de Guadiana, that makes the border between Spain and Portugal on the Algarve coast and I am looking for two persons that can help me to prepare and run them for extensive long term world wide cruising. As soon as the boats are ready we will invite others to come along for a small fee as paying crew. But we are not really looking for money, we are looking for a free & fun life.

I have had Joshua the blue boat on the profile picture above since 2013. The two extra boats I have was originally bought to fix in Morocco and sell in Europe, like my normal business, but with the long Corona interference, closed harbors in Morocco, I have changed my mind and now want to live a simple but adventures boat life with like minded people. I have sailed many years with 3-5 boats together and it beats sailing alone for sure. The advantages and fun factors are almost endless, both at sea and at harbor/anchorage.

If you think this sounds like a cool project that you would maybe like to join in the future, but not as a captain, send me a short msg here within Crewbay, and I will invite you to The Ark's Project - Telegram channel, where things will be discussed and updated along the way.

So first and now I am looking for two captains.

  • To start with, it's not a paid job and you even have to take your own expenses until we are in ready to have guests/paying crew or make money in some other way. 1/3 of all income goes to captains.

  • You don't have to be a real captain with certificates etc. What I am looking for now is two healthy, handy, brave, sociable, open-minded, mentally strong, leader-type persons that are kind of finished with society and can see themselves live at sea and be part of organizing this idea. Age, gender, money not important. The three of us will in the beginning decide when and where we go from here. But this will naturally change as the sailing tribe grows.

  • We will sell/buy/change boats along the way and you are welcome to be part in those.

  • We will form a fleet that always stays & sails together even on crossings.

  • It's not set in stone which boat you will run, we will all kind of float around between the boats. The smaller boats are good for guests to sail and train with and Joshua is really good to have well paying charter on as well as storing equipment. This will change back and forth with time so flexible is another good thing for you to be.

  • At harbors/anchor we eat together organized by one of the boats.

  • We don't always have to sail. When we find a, safe harbor, good spot, we stay as long as we want. Rio de Guadiana has been great for me the last winter and I would think we need another winter here to get ready to move.

The Ark's

The Rival 34 and the Colvik 26 both needs some work to make them nice inside but are otherwise ready to sail. We are loaded with spare parts, sails, dinghies, engines, fishing, diving and tools that makes a good security for surviving. As I moved the boats here from Alcaidesa Marina by Gibraltar, all the boats where packed to the brim with boat stuff. They still are but now better organized. By the way.. I moved the boats one by one.
