After the all integration, I am very sure that the subject matter of my film revolves around the direction in that Hong Kong is most touching to me. In 2021 or 2022, the hottest topic is immigration and the epidemic. The epidemic is still rigging, this subject was too difficult to articulate at this time, and there was no end, so I made sure my work would revolve around immigration.
The immigration wave in Hong Kong appeared as early as 1997, and many of them did not trust the Chinese government. On December 19, 1984, the United Kingdom and China signed the Sino-British Joint Declaration(S. M. Li, 1990), establishing the handover of Hong Kong sovereignty in 1997. Since many Hong Kong residents have experienced political turmoil in mainland China, and many Hong Kong people have resisted the rule of the Chinese Communist Party, some Hong Kong people have begun to plan to immigrate. In the mid-to-late 1980s, there were an average of more than 20,000 Hong Kong people who entered every year from the move to overseas.
In this immigration wave, since 2019, the number of people leaving Hong Kong has continued to rise. In 2022, the net outflow of the population in the first three quarters will be 140,000. From mid-2019 to the end of 2021, according to the Hong Kong Census and Statistics Department, the population outflow was 130,000(【新.移民潮(一)】港頭三個月淨移出人口逾14萬 移民人數有升無減人才持續流失, 2022). Since the anti-revision movement, the net flow of the population has reached 270,000. And in 2021, 103,900 people applied for BNO visas, of which more than 93% have approved. With the introduction of immigration policies by the British government, the Canadian government and the Australian government for the escape of Hong Kong people, many Hong Kong people have been attracted. These three places serve as their refuge. However, the United States, Taiwan, Japan, New Zealand, etc., have also expressed their willingness to provide immigration policies for Hong Kong people to escape. The immigration policies set up by various countries for Hong Kong have made Hong Kong people reconsider the option of immigration.
The latest BNO immigration scheme ("5+1" immigrant visa) has been open for applications from January 31, 2021. The new scheme makes it easy to immigrate to the UK. As long as you stay in the UK for five years on a BNO visa, you can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and apply for naturalization by visiting for another year.
The latest immigrant to the UK with a BNO visa allows applicants to stay in the UK for 30 months and then renew for 30 months, or to live in the UK for five consecutive years, during which they can work or study, apply for settlement after five years, and apply for naturalization after one year of stay (British Citizenship, BC). Applicants only need to have BNO qualifications and not need to present a valid BNO passport.
BNO visa highlights are as follows
From January 31, 2021, it will be open to BNO citizens to apply. It is not necessary to hold a valid BNO passport. You can apply with a SAR passport.
After the visa holder arrives in the UK, he can engage in any type of work but cannot enjoy UK social benefits.
Relatives (spouse, minor children) can apply for a visa to go to the UK as a "dependent."
There is no limit to the number of dependants, but they must be habitually residents in Hong Kong.
At least six months of financial support for the applicant and dependants to live in the UK
Additional fee for access to the National Health Service (NHS) of £2,000 for five years
Obtain a TB certificate issued by a local government-approved body
Willingness to learn English.
Immigration Canada (IRCC) launched a 3-year open work permit for Hong Kong graduates in early 2021, paving the way for permanent residency. The new measure has attracted nearly 6,000 Hong Kong residents to apply from February to mid-May 2021. Immigration trends to Canada have shown a steady increase from 2015 to 2019, according to data released by the Immigration Service in June. However, due to the epidemic's impact, there will be a significant decline in 2020, but Immigration Canada (IRCC) will gradually resume the approval in 2021.
The new lifeboat plan provides Hong Kong people with permanent residence(Immigration, 2022). The second stage is mainly divided into Group A (Stream A) and Group B (Stream B);
Group A is education immigration, and Hong Kong students who graduated in Canada can apply for immigration directly;
The group is work immigration, and you can apply for immigration directly with one year of work experience in Canada. The requirements for applicants are relatively simple. As long as they are holders of Hong Kong passports and British BNO passports, they can apply without age and birthplace restrictions.
Description of the Lifeboat Program for Canadian Immigrants from Hong Kong
Group A applicants must have completed a Canadian post-secondary program in the past three years, including a degree program, a two-year or more diploma program, and a postgraduate program of at least one year. Five years).
Group B applicants must have accumulated at least one year of full-time work experience in Canada in the past three years, or 1,560 hours of part-time work experience. Hong Kong people can apply the two pathways for permanent residence online. Applicants must submit work, academic certificates, and language proficiency test certificates and pay an application fee starting from $1,050.
The Australian government recently announced a new "Safe Haven" policy to lower the threshold for Hong Kong people to apply for permanent residence. From March 5, 2022, all holders of SAR passports or BNO passports, students with temporary graduate visas (485);
Temporary skilled shortage visa (482);
Temporary skilled work visa (457), if they meet the standard requirements criteria such as physical examination and character review do not need to be based on the original Australian immigration score (EOI score) method and can pass the unique Hong Kong Stream "Independent Skilled Visa (189)" or "Permanent Skilled Immigration in Remote Areas" Residence Visa (191)" to apply for permanent residency.
Applicants who have lived in Australia continuously for at least four years and hold those mentioned above eligible temporary visas can apply for the "Independent Skilled Visa (189)" through the unique Hong Kong Stream to apply for permanent residence.
Applicants who have lived, worked or studied in areas of Australia for at least three years, and held those mentioned above eligible temporary visas during the period, can apply for permanent residence through the "Remote Area Skilled Immigrant Permanent Residency Visa (191)".
At the same time, if a temporary skilled shortage visa (482) or temporary skilled work visa (457) has been issued on July 9, 2020, it will be automatically extended for five years from that day to apply for permanent employment residence through the new channel.

The epidemic in Hong Kong began in February, and the number of confirmed cases rose suddenly. By early March, it had reached 60,000 confirmed cases in a single day. People in the whole city were panicking. However, the classmates are aware of what is going on. So they do not dare to blindly because everyone knows that whether it is for their health or work, everyone is very concerned about whether they can continue shooting a movie for their work.

Although the school has stated that filming is not necessarily a graduation project, it does not mean that the above credit will be in vain. On the contrary, it made me more determined to create a set of non-shooting film works related to the theme of immigration.
If I want to complete this filming project, the required conditions are undeniable, which can be expressed through pictures/long-distance shooting/multimedia etc.
