The Cross Keys High School STEM Center is a project that seeks to expose educators to STEM best practices by offering professional development opportunities, online support and providing a repository of resource materials for teachers across all levels .
Educators will be exposed to concepts related to gaming, animation, mixed realities(virtual and augmented) ,3D printing and robotics.
Teachers who have participated in our workshop sessions will be certified once all requirements for certification are met.
This project is being offered as a fulfillment of a teacher leadership grant which will be done in
partnership with the Ministry of Education , Youth & Information.
This project seeks to achieve the following goals :
Introduce teachers to new and emerging approaches to STEM education through concepts
such as robotics, gaming, animation, holograms, 3D technologies , virtual and augmented
realities. This will by extension give students of both sexes equal opportunities to explore
science which may aid in reducing gender base learning disparities.
Provide teachers with opportunities to develop professionally through partnership programs, seminars and workshops which may lead to certification.
Offer PD support to teachers looking for new avenues to explore science.
