I am currently Research Fellow in the Ultrafast Spectroscopy group at Politecnico di Milano where we use femtosecond laser pulses to probe the electron and phonon dynamics of two-dimensional materials; from semiconductors to superconductors.
I completed my PhD within the Centre for Doctoral training in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Bath. My doctoral thesis focused on understanding phase transitions in the metallic transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs). These materials exhibit a range of strongly-correlated effects such as superconductivity, charge density waves (CDWs) and Mott physics, which are often dictated by their electronic structure. For this work, I used a combination of time-resolved spectroscopy and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) techniques.
