Jeron Stephens is the Director of Choirs at Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, New Jersey. Mr. Stephens holds a BM in Vocal Music Education from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and an MM in Conducting from Colorado State University.
At Rutgers Prep, Mr. Stephens works with 4 curricular choirs and 1 extra-curricular choir. He prioritizes the growth and retention of the school's choral program by focusing on engagement and interaction as well as choosing repertoire that reflects the students in his classroom. Under his direction, his choirs have received Superior and Outstanding ratings at local and regional festivals and competitions and have also had the privilege of performing at the NJMEA State Conference in 2025.
An active member of the National Association for Music Education, the American Choral Directors Association and the New Jersey Music Educators Association, Mr. Stephens frequently attends and presents at state & regional conferences and professional development clinics to further his growth as a musician, conductor, and educator and share his knowledge with others.
Since 2019, Alexa Lucchesse has served as the Choir Director for Alexander Batcho Intermediate School and Manville High School. In addition to teaching choir, she serves as the Director for the Manville School District Drama Club and produces two large-scale musicals each year alongside her incredible team. She is proud to have founded the ABIS Chorale, the middle school's select choir. This year, Ms. Lucchesse was named the 2024 Governor's Teacher of the Year.
Alexa holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with a Voice Primary from Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where she was a member of the Grammy-nominated Westminster Williamson Voices. In her time with the choir, Alexa performed at Oxford University, Carnegie Hall, and the Kimmel Center. She is also active in the musical theatre world, ranging over the states of New York and New Jersey. Currently, Ms. Lucchesse is pursuing a Master's Degree in Theatre Education through Adelphi University. When not teaching, Ms. Lucchesse enjoys directing musicals and performing. She is grateful for her district support and her incredibly talented students!
