MOA Signing and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the establishment of the 1st LGPRC Satellite Knowledge Management Hub (SKeMaH) in the Province of Davao Del Sur

On March 28, 2023, Cor Jesu College, Inc. and the Local Governance Provincial Local Resource Center (LGPRC) of Davao Del Sur solidified their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This agreement marked the establishment of the inaugural LGPRC Satellite Knowledge Management Hub (SKeMaH) in Davao Del Sur, situated at the Learning & Information Resource Center (LIRC) within the campus of Cor Jesu College Inc., Digos City.
The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was graced by the presence of Cor Jesu College, Inc.'s President, Br. Ellakim P. Sosmena, SC., PhD, and the Davao Del Sur DILG LGPRC, represented by their Provincial Director, Mika-Chan S. Magtulis, CESE. They presided over the ceremonial signing of the MoA and also led the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Learning & Information Resource Center.
Also in attendance during the ceremony were Dr. Leticia A. Cansancio, Director of LIRC, Mrs. Maribel Guerra, Director of Bro. Polycarp Foundation, Dr. Kirt Anthony Diaz, Vice President for Academic Affairs, as well as the dedicated librarians, faculty, and staff of Cor Jesu College, Inc.
In today's interconnected global landscape, access to timely and accurate information holds greater significance than ever before. Whether it's for personal, organizational, or academic purposes, information has become an indispensable necessity. Without access to precise and current information, individuals, the public, students, educators, and institutions find themselves at a disadvantage when making informed decisions.
Libraries have played an integral role in human society for centuries. They function as centers for knowledge, learning, and community engagement. From public libraries to university libraries, people depend on these institutions to access books, research materials, and other resources that enable them to broaden their understanding of the world and engage with fresh ideas.
Indeed, the collaboration between the DILG - LGPRC and Cor Jesu College, Inc. further strengthens one of the core missions of LIRC, which is to enhance its information resources and extend its commitment to delivering library users the most current and pertinent information tailored to their individual needs.
