MISSION
To select, acquire, organize, preserve, and make available library materials in print and non-print and in electronic formats to serve the recreational, informational, educational, and leisure needs of the clientele for a lifelong enjoyment of reading and learning.
OBJECTIVES
To identify and provide access to the learning resources and information services required to support the learning, teaching and research activities of the institution;
To manage the resources efficiently and effectively;
To establish an environment conducive to study which caters to multiple learning styles and for both individual and group learning;
To teach faculty, staff and students how to use the LIRC and develop their information skills;
To liaise with the administration and students to establish their needs and to cooperate with management and other college services to meet those needs;
To provide accommodation which is suitable in terms of comfort, space, furniture, ventilation, lighting and to ensure that these are maintained in a clean and tidy condition;
To provide a customer-caring attitude at all times;
To provide sufficient stacks to meet normal user requirements and ensure that they are kept up-to-date, relevant and in good physical condition; and
To encourage the LIRC staff to be actively involved in educational/professional change.
