This policy covers the CivilStamp iOS app and this public support website.
INFORMATION CIVILSTAMP HANDLES
CivilStamp may handle process-server information, case numbers, party names, addresses, service observations, recipient and mailing facts, photographs, precise device coordinates, location accuracy, event time, notes, integrity information, local settings, the included-photo count, and App Store product and entitlement status.
LOCAL STORAGE AND DEVELOPER ACCESS
Cases, drafts, photographs, and saved records are stored in CivilStamp’s private storage on the iPhone. CivilStamp does not require an account. The current release has no developer-operated evidence server, advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, or evidence-content telemetry. Source photos, names, addresses, coordinates, notes, and case facts are not sent to the operator.
APPLE SERVICES AND PURCHASES
CivilStamp uses Apple’s App Store services to request product information, begin or restore purchases, redeem Apple offer codes, and determine entitlement status. Field-evidence content is not attached to those requests. Apple processes these services under Apple’s terms and privacy practices and may provide transaction, financial, or diagnostic reporting through its systems.
SHARING, PHOTOS, AND BACKUPS
Information can leave CivilStamp when the user deliberately shares an export, saves an optional copy to Photos, or includes app data in an Apple device backup. The chosen recipient, app, service, or backup provider then controls its copy. CivilStamp cannot recall exported copies.
DEVICE PERMISSIONS
CivilStamp uses camera access after the user opens the camera. It requests location while the app is in use to obtain a current reading; it does not request background location. Optional Photos add access is used only to save a user-requested copy. Broad photo-library read access is not required.
INCLUDED-PHOTO COUNT
The first 10 successfully saved records containing a photo are included. CivilStamp keeps a device-local high-water count in app preferences and Keychain. Deleting records does not reduce that count. Opening or canceling the camera, discarding a draft, a failed save, and saving a no-photo record do not increase it. Delete all records does not reset it, and removing the app may not erase a Keychain item in every backup or restore situation.
RETENTION AND DELETION
Local records remain until the user deletes them or removes the app, subject to device backups, Keychain behavior, and copies already exported or saved to Photos. Delete all records removes cases, drafts, and private evidence currently stored in CivilStamp. It does not cancel purchases, erase external copies, remove Apple purchase history, or reset the included-photo count. Users remain responsible for any retention requirement imposed by an employer, client, insurer, attorney, legal hold, or applicable law.
SECURITY AND INTEGRITY
CivilStamp uses app-private storage, iOS data protection, a device-held Keychain signing key, hashes, and a signed record manifest to help reveal later changes. These checks do not guarantee identity, truth, legal sufficiency, admissibility, absolute security, or court acceptance.
THIS WEBSITE
This support site is hosted by Google Sites. Google may use cookies and process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, and site activity to deliver, protect, and analyze its services under Google’s Privacy Policy. CivilStamp does not receive field records through this website.
SUPPORT COMMUNICATIONS
If you email CivilStamp, the operator receives your email address, message, and anything you choose to provide. That information may be used to respond and investigate reliability or security issues. Do not send sensitive field evidence through ordinary email.
PROFESSIONAL USE
CivilStamp is a professional field tool and is not directed to children. Users are responsible for lawful collection, minimization, accuracy, disclosure, access, deletion, and retention of information about other people. CivilStamp is not legal advice or an official proof-of-service form.
QUESTIONS AND CHANGES
Records stored solely on your device are not available to the operator. Privacy questions concerning support correspondence may be sent to benjamin.halpin@icloud.com. Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised effective date.
