Christ in the City
Philly 2026-2027
Thank you for taking an interest in my journey to Christ in the City, Philadelphia!
I am incredibly thankful for all the people and organizations that have helped me reach my fundraising goal! Additional funds will further support the mission of Christ in the City.
I'm very grateful for the outpouring of love and support! You all will be in my prayers, now and while I am in Philadelphia.
In times of their greatest destitution, our homeless brothers and sisters in Christ face extreme challenges of scarcity. Scarcity of food, water, shelter, and warmth. Most notably, the homeless often face significant deprivation of the sense of human dignity and belonging.
Christ in the City seeks to assist in all these regards. Providing material support, accompaniment in pursuing resources, and, most importantly, companionship. As a missionary, my main objective will be to create real, tangible relationships based on filial love, not transactional expectations. Where better to encounter brotherly love than the city of Philadelphia itself?
Over 770,000 people nationwide experienced homelessness in 2024. In Philadelphia, there was an increase of 22% from 2023 to 2024 as the homeless population spiked from ≈4,500 to ≈5,500. Of this number, 1,612 are chronically homeless.
Chronic homelessness is characterized by being on the streets for at least a year, with most of these people suffering for far longer. They have a particular need for the reintegration of relationship and community that Christ in the City offers.
How I was drawn to CITC

...I explored how to integrate pillars of Christ in the City’s mission into my own life. I began to volunteer weekly at a local homeless shelter. I started keeping water and granola bars in my car for when I passed people on the street. I grappled with my introvert instincts and endeavored to be more open to daily, intentional conversation.
I began to notice and reflect on the fact that most of us spend time wearing a metaphorical mask, a luxury that hides our insecurities and vulnerabilities. We often hide how we feel..."
