What is Circles Douglas County?

Circles USA is a non-partisan national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that, over 25 years of working with communities across America, has developed one of the most effective programs for supporting people out of poverty. Partnering with local organizations — including government agencies, nonprofits, and faith-based communities — Circles matches those in need with middle- to high-income mentors who provide training in personal finance, employment, and communication skills, helping people move from just surviving to thriving. Circles also brings together community resources and helps formulate plans to reduce a community's poverty rate by at least 10%.

Circles Douglas County is our local chapter.  It was founded by First Presbyterian Church of Douglasville after conversations with community leaders to address unmet needs in our county.  Each year we host the annual Circles DC 5K at Clinton Nature Preserve which is our biggest fundraiser. This event raises vital funds to support our mission of helping families in Douglas County achieve long-term financial stability, and we are seeking sponsors to partner with us to offset event costs and maximize the impact of every dollar raised.

Circles helps families become financially stable with a unique approach. We match those in need with middle- or high-income volunteers. They receive training about personal finances, getting a job, and communication skills for healthy relationships. What really makes Circles different are the relationships that participants form. People are more successful when they have support around them.
