CIPSCHK - Illustrations

Illustration is the key component to all my works, whether they later turn into posters, comics, or else. On this page I show some of my more exclusively illustratory works - like these three illustrations I made for the work "Wörterbuch des Buches", a project made possible through the illustration class of 2024-25 at UdK under the supervision of Jakob Hinrichs and Constanze Hein. The drawings are made digitally, with only two colors (black and Pantone 3395), for which I used screentones to keep the shading varied.

This is an illustrated page I made for a publication at UdK during early 2024.

It is the introduction for that publication, and since the theme is studying visual communication, I tried to include all that that entails in this one illustration - whether it be the positive and fun parts (like experimenting with different materials or types of work) or the less fun parts (like very short breaks filled with caffeine or late night ramen).

I made this small pattern in 2023 for a banner for a possible youtube channel, which hasn't come to fruition just yet. It shows my character in different poses and moods, in an artstyle that would hopefully be easier to animate than my usual style.

This is a tiny illustration I made for my instagram one time when I got sick. It shows some of the books, games and shows I was watching at the time while trying to get better, a weird mix of underground comics from the 80s and popular culture from the more recent times.

This drawing style is probably the one I'm most comfortable in, but I have fun branching out and trying new things every now and then too, so it doesn't end up appearing all that often in my works!

This illustration served as proof of concept for a short children's book I made about a lizard who looses his tail and is too afraid to tell his parents. He goes around the forest and asks different animals what he should do now, who all answer differently - the owl being a predator of lizards is a particularly scary animal to meet for the small lizard - thus the drama of the scene.

The short story was produced for my application process at UdK, with the topic of "courage".

These three are slightly older projects whose final product I still really enjoy. The first is an illustration I made in celebration of a great friendship, the second is an album cover for my good friend and very talented bassist RoseBunny, and the last was a celebratory drawing for my 100th post on Instagram.
