About me
My background is in teaching university-level writing (since 2005) and directing a university writing center. I have 10 years of experience on the administrative side of academic support services, including designing training and professional development for tutoring staff across the curriculum at multiple institutions of higher learning as well as designing assessment plans, and their accompanying measurement instruments, in order to meet accreditation standards. Additionally, I have worked in various nonprofit settings designing and leading training, designing standard operating procedures and various job aids, and curating educational programming for diverse audiences. With my background teaching and tutoring writing and ESL, I have developed skills in editing (copyediting and developmental editing) and in working effectively one-on-one, which I share with private clients to help them maximize their rhetorical purposes (www.gradapplicationessays.com). In 2012, I earned a yoga teaching credential, and I have led studio-based and event-based yoga classes, as well as mentored new yoga teachers, ever since. I have applied my instructional design skills to the design of effective learning experiences for yoga teacher trainees.
I have a passion for designing learning experiences across my various interests, and I am pursuing a second Master's degree in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue University because I want to expand my skillsets and fully pivot into instructional design in a corporate, higher ed, or nonprofit setting.
