Curriculum for Wales

Ysgol Ardudwy's Vision

From September 2023 Year 7 & 8 pupils will start studying a New Curriculum for Wales. This means that as a school community we need to ensure that our vision clearly defines what we would like to provide for our learners.

We are very keen to involve you on our journey to design a new curriculum and are willing to listen to any relevant suggestions, comments or contributions you may have.

The focus of the Welsh Government's vision is the aspiration for all children and young people in Wales to achieve the four purposes, and to develop into:

  • ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives

  • enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work

  • ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world

  • healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society

Ysgol Ardudwy's Vision

LEARNING TOGETHER FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Ysgol Ardudwy aims to inspire, motivate and care for all members of our inclusive community. We as a team will work together towards the same objective, which is to create a happy environment that develops resilient, healthy and successful learners.

The school aims to ensure that all individuals have equal opportunities and have high expectations of standards and effort in order to achieve their potential. We take advantage of every opportunity to develop self-esteem and respect for others, personal well-being, confidence and perseverance while equipping our learners to be responsible, questioning, creative and ambitious pupils.

We seek to provide an accessible curriculum based on strong moral principles that is fair to all. We offer rich, broad and inspiring experiences with opportunities for innovation, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. Our mission is to create engaging learning opportunities that provide learners with the conditions and resources to learn through a variety of methods developing their independence, digital skills, the ability to work effectively as a team and their desire to be life-long learners.

We are proud of our contribution to our locality and its culture and to the sustainability of our world. We aim to work alongside parents and guardians and are committed to providing them with support and encouragement. We celebrate our Welshness and our ability to develop pupils into becoming confident, informed, bilingual citizens.
