Chalcogenide Thin-Film Photovoltaics Research Group
(Korea Institute of Science and Technology)
We belong to Advanced Photovoltaics Research Center, Korea Institute of Science and Technology. Our group is focused on developing the next generation photovoltaics using chalcogenide semiconductor materials (CuInₓGa₁₋ₓ(Se,S)₂, Cu₂ZnSn(Se,S)₄). Chalcogenide offers a variety of advantages over silicon such as thin film processibility, bandgap tunability, and a high power conversion efficiency. We specifically aim to develop thin film solar modules on flexible, transparent, tandem, or bi-facial platforms, targeting new life-friendly applications such as building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) or vehicle-integrated photovoltaics (VIPV). Our goal is to provide sustainable energy solutions to the society facing the 4th industrial revolution.
