Keynote Speech

Title: Electrical Steels and Their Application Techniques

Speaker: Hisashi Mogi, Section Manager, Steel Research Laboratories, Nippon Steel Corporation

Abstract:

Electrical steels are important, integrant materials for the electrical equipment, and have been utilized during the past century. Since 1960s Japan has taken the lead in improving their performance, and supplied them all over the world.

In this speech, the outline of the electrical steels, especially non-oriented electrical steel for rotating machines, is introduced. Next, the application to the turbine generators is explained. Finally, the carbon neutrality approach for the steel products is briefly mentioned.
