“Survey on Industry Practices and Effects associated with the Cutting Out of Stator Coils in Hydrogenerators”
Speaker: Jemimah Connie Akiror
Abstract
As results of the activities of Working Group A1.59, a method for identifying the ground fault point of stator winding of hydrogenerators, the cutting out practices, as a ground fault repair method, and its precautions will be introduced.
15:50 – 16:30 Tutorial 2
“Renewable Power Integration-Synchronous Condenser role in Grid stability”
Speaker : Dhananjay Chaturvedi, India, CIGRE Fellow & Honorary Member, Advisor SAREP, USAID
Abstract
As results of the activities of Joint Working Group C4/A1.66, a guide on the assessment, specification and design of Synchronous Condenser for power system will be introduced. In addition, a performance comparison of BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) with Synchronous Condenser will be introduced.
16:30 – 17:10 Tutorial 3
“History of High Thermal Conductivity Insulation Development and Application”
Speaker: Hiroshi Hatano*, Toshiba Energy Systems & Solutions Corporation
Hiroshi Sako, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
Kazuhiro Kudo, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Abstract
High thermal conductivity (HTC) insulation for stator coils, which was commercialized around 2000, has had a significant impact on the design of hydrogen indirect-cooled turbine generators.
By summarizing the history of insulation development for generators and its key points, the position of HTC insulation development in it will be clarified. The process of the development of HTC insulation will also be explained, as well as its application to generators, and the operational results of them.
