Neck Cutting

In the next step, a notch needs to be cut out on the neck. This notch allows the cover of the the cigar box to close while the neck is inside of it.

You can use the width of the cigar box to help determine the length of the cut. To figure out the depth of the cut, use a piece of the cigar box that was cut off for the neck slot as reference.

If cutting the neck is found to be difficult, use a file and or a coping saw to create relief cuts along the section that needs to be cut. This allows you to cut off small sections on the neck.
