The goal of this project is to investigate new computational model for representing complex three-dimensional (3D) geometric shape such as human face. The objectives of this project include, but not limited to the following.
- Acquisition, processing, and visualization of 3D facial point cloud data of humans
- Interpret and apply mathematical theories to extract new geometric features of 3D point cloud data
- Identify efficient ways to represent large volume of 3D data in a low-dimensional feature space
- Engineer state-of-the-art machine learning frameworks for 3D biometric pattern recognition
