WHAT IS CYBERPATRIOT?

CyberPatriot is the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation's future. At the core of the program is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition that puts high school and middle school students in charge of securing virtual networks. Other programs include AFA CyberCamps, an elementary school cyber education initiative, a children’s literature series, and CyberGenerations –a cyber safety initiative geared toward keeping senior citizens safe online.

The Winston Churchill High School JROTC Department is searching for highly motivated, determined, and committed incoming students that are knowledgeable in computer systems operations to join our Cyberpatriot Teams. As you may know, cyber security is and will continue to be in extreme demand due to the domestic and external threats that we face as a nation. Cyberpatriot is not a hacker training program; students learn how to identify system vulnerabilities and learn how to protect their systems. The Charger JROTC program offers future cadets with the opportunity to train and compete nationally in cyber security. Enrollment in JROTC and participation in the Cyber Patriot teams is at no cost to the student. Training and equipment will be at the disposition of the students while in school.
