Why should I join CCMUN?

CCMUN is a fun an engaging experience with specially planned socials segments such as placard signings and superlatives. CCMUN can also help you to broaden your horizons as you will be exposed to the inner workings of the UN that decide global issues. CCMUN can also help you with your testimonial as you will have attended and exclusive event that many students in Singapore do not have access to.

What will I be doing in CCMUN?

During CCMUN, you will be debating within your selected council about the assigned issue. You will also be representing your allocated country, trying your best to debate from the perspective of that country’s government. Additionally, you can form blocs, write resolutions, and have them passed if you wish! Besides that, if you choose to join the press corps, you will go around as a reporter and journalist, writing articles on the various council proceedings and attending press conferences or conducting interviews if you wish. If you would like a deeper experience of MUN, you may also opt to sign up as a Student Ambassador where you will have the opportunity to assist the chairs in performing their duties.

Is CCMUN open to all?

CCMUN is open to all Upper Secondary students of CCHM, as well as students from invited external schools. No prior MUN experience is required!

Do I need to prepare anything before CCMUN?

All delegates will need to write an approximately one-page long position paper to be submitted by the stipulated deadline. But don’t worry! All the salient points about your assigned topic will be provided in a Study Guide, although you are encouraged to do your own research as well.

Help! I’ve never done MUN before?

Fret not! Delegate training will be provided on one day in Term 2 Week 7 after school to get you up to speed on the Rules of Procedure, how to write your position paper, and everything else in between!
