Coronado High School's Navy Junior ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps), commonly referred to as "Islander Company" by cadets, was started in September of 2003. It is a class offered at the high school to teach the cadets self-discipline and leadership skills. ROTC is designed to teach the value of citizenship, leadership, service to the community, personal responsibility, a sense of self-esteem, and teamwork.
