You can find the tryout application here. Please fill it out completely and accurately. This, along with your tryout video and photo (and physical exam completed by your doctor clearing you for physical activity), will be considered a complete tryout packet. Your physical needs to be within the last two years. If you need to get one, your doctor can use any form they'd like, or they can use this one provided by the IHSAA. You will need to upload a picture of your completed form when you submit your application (it's the first question). Don't worry - this will be kept 100% confidential.
A letter of recommendation emailed to centuryhscheerleading@gmail.com is not required, but highly recommended. Your video parts should be all put together into one video (the video does not need to be continuous, but due to the volume of videos we hope to receive, having all of your sections compiled into one file would be greatly appreciated.) Remember, when filming your video, there are basic requirements (see below), but the more video footage we have of you, and the more interaction (speaking) we have, the better! Once you are finished, you have some options:
Upload your video presentation to YouTube under an unlisted link and email it to centuryhscheerleading@gmail.com with your first and last name in the subject line.
If the file is small enough, email the file directly to centuryhscheerleading@gmail.com with your first and last name in the subject line.
When compiling your video, you will need to include the following:
INTRO: An introduction! (Your full name, your current grade, your current school, and any other introductory information we might want to know!) Also, tell us why you want to be a Century cheerleader.
JUMPS: A toe touch, your best Herkie (either side), a pike jump, your best hurdler (either side), and a double or triple jump combination of your choice. (see the video on the "tips/advice" tab!)
FLEXIBILITY: A picture or video of you demonstrating your right, left, and center splits AS WELL AS a back bend/bridge.
DANCE: A video of you performing the dance routine posted on this website (filmed from the front, to music)
CHEER: A video of you performing the cheer posted on this website (filmed from the front)
TUMBLING: ANY tumbling you can do (this includes forward/backward rolls, handstand, cartwheels, round offs, back/front walkovers, handsprings, aerials, standing tumbling, tucks, etc). Videos from routines you performed THIS school year (or during a practice/tumbling class) can be used as long as you are easily identifiable (if you are not the only one in the video, include something that says "I'm the one in the blue shirt with the pink shorts and the braid" or "I'm the one doing the round off double back handspring at 1:49 into the video").
ANYTHING ELSE: Any additional tricks/stunting/skills/flexibility you have that you want to show! The more video footage we have of you, the better!
