chrys furrer (they/them) is an trans-disciplinary scholar working at the intersection of nature and culture, with a particular interest in the development of a creative praxis for healing the relationships between humans, more-than-human beings, and the earth we all share.
Their studies weave together a wide range of fields: agricultural science, environmental studies, critical race and gender studies, cultural studies, the social study of science, sociocultural anthropology, multispecies justice, and (post)humanities, all viewed through the lenses anti-racism, anti-coloniality, anti-capitalism, queerness, and disability.
They are adept at making connections across different disciplines, emphasizing the relationality and interconnectedness of various schools of thought, and working towards integration and synthesis. They hope that their work supports the creation of epistemological ecotones that allow for the emergence of new ways of being in the world.
chrys hopes to continue their lifelong love for learning by leaning into teaching, developing an interdisciplinary pedagogy that will support humanity in meeting the great and many challenges of our time.
