Christy Lode, BA, MA, RCC
Welcome! My name is Christy Lode, and I am a dedicated and compassionate counsellor with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies from Mount Royal University. Born and raised in the beautiful Kootenays, I am deeply connected to the area I call home and grateful for the incredible community and natural beauty that surrounds me. With over 18 years of experience working with clients and their families, my professional journey includes counseling, serving as a probation officer, and instructing at the College of the Rockies and the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC).
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a genuine desire to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and achieve personal growth. I have extensive experience working with diverse clients, including Indigenous communities, and I bring cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care to every session.
I specialize in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel empowered to explore their thoughts and emotions while developing practical tools for lasting change. Whether you are facing anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or a major life transition, I am here to guide you every step of the way.
Outside of my professional life, I value connection, authenticity, and continual learning. I cherish time spent with family, animals, and exploring the outdoors, all of which inspire me to bring balance and meaning into my practice. My commitment to helping others is not just a profession but a calling, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward healing and fulfillment.
