I went to P.S.4 Maurice Wollin school from Pre-K to 5th grade. While I was in this school I received many academic award, including The American Legion Medal and Certificate of School Award during my graduating year, which only 2 students out of the whole graduating class can receive. I then attended I.S.75 for middle school. In this school I got into Junior Arista in 6th grade, and NHS in 7th & 8th grade. I then went to Gaynor McCown high school for my freshman year of high school. In this school I took as many leadership opportunities as I could at the time, even though I had to attend half of the week in person learning and half remote learning.
I currently attend New York Urban Assembly Harbor School , which is a CTE school, and I and am Senior. The CTE I chose to peruse was/is Marine Biology. I also do a lot of extra curricular activities in this school. I attend the Sustainability club where we work to make the school more sustainably. In the past I have also attended Student Council, were we plan events/gatherings for the whole school to participate in. I also go to Restorative Justice, in R.J. we talk about different ways to gain a sense of community throughout the school. I also attend Harbor Corps and Waterfront Club, where we work on and of the water to learn a multitude of skills. I also made National Honor Society my Sophomore & Junior year and am on track to make it my Senior year. I also was responsible for caring for a recirculating aquaculture system, or R.A.S., in my marine biology lab. I was responsible to feed the organisms in the tank, maintain the physical chemistry of the water, keep the tank clean/presentable, and repair any damages to the internals of the system. These responsibilities helped me learn a lot of very important skills. Now in my Senior year I am working to measure biodiversity of marine sessile invertebrates on ECOncrete in the New York Harbor. I have also interned at Brooklyn Roots Veterinary Hospital for around 170 hours, and am planning to intern there again and even work there over the summer.
I am committed to the University of Delaware and in the Pre-Vet major. When I graduate I am planning to go on to get my VMD in my graduate years. Like I said previously I am committed to the University of Delaware, yet I have been accepted to Marist College, University of Connecticut, Rutgers University, SUNY Cortland, and I have the option to transfer to Cornell University after completing one year of college.
