In 2013 I formed a team and dove in head first for the 48 Hour Film Project. Being our first year we had no idea what to expect...

The 48 Hour Film Project is a filmmaking competition on a city and national level. Like the name indicates you are given 48 hours to write, film and deliver a finished project. The madness begins on Friday, when you meet with all the teams for Cincinnati and get to pick your genre. They then give you a character, prop and a line of dialog to use for the film and it's off to the races! You have until drop off time on Sunday night to submit a completed film. If you are one minute late your film is not eligible to win, but it will still screen as a late film.

I produced, directed, co-wrote and edited these films. There's very little sleep and a whole lot of chaos during those 48 hours and you're pushed to the brink, but it's amazing to see what can be done in one weekend.

Christmas Crisis - 2019

Awards:

Best Film, Second Place - Best Visual Effects - Best Writing - Best Graphics - Best Visual Effects

This was an amazing experience! My team and I enjoyed making this film. After taking home the award for Best Film (second place) it went on to the Cindependent Film Festival where it was featured at the Woodward Theater.

Sunshine Baby: The Ballad of the Paisley brothers - 2018

Awards:

Best Graphics - Best Movie Poster - Best Original Score

Did I mention they give you the Genre? This year we had a choice between "Western" or "Musical." We tried to do a mockumentary in the spirit of 30 for 30 or This is Spinal Tap.

lady killer - 2017

This is the first appearance of Mr. Pizza. Watch carefully because he appears often in the Keeney-verse. There were a lot of challenges with this film, most notably the main production camera falling and breaking. Move on to plan B!

Wish - 2016

I think this is the cutest of all our films. It has a strong family theme and one of the best locations we've ever filmed at. The weather was hot but my team soldiered on to make a great film.

Keep Your Eye on The Ball - 2014

Where's the music? The film was turned in on time but missing a big part, the music! There were complications with the music department, he didn't show up. I don't edit these for the future because I feel it's not in the spirit of the competition. It's 2 days, things happen.

Our First Film

This film will always be special. I co-produced this film with Lyn Sloniker and recruited friends and family for my team. My favorite memory from this film is during the front door "taser" scene. (It was just a cell phone) Joshua answers the door and gets pushed and falls down the steps. That was real, he fell down half a flight of steps. I was frozen when it happened, we all were. Then I realized no-one was moving or helping because I hadn't yelled "cut!" yet. He got up and did 2 more takes.
