Requirements to study on our Geography Ph.D. programme at The University of Manchester

All prospective students are required to apply for a place on our Postgraduate Research Programme. Applications can be made any time before February to start in the following September. You should contact me first to discuss project ideas. Places are competitive and require:

A First or Upper Second Class Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
A relevant master's degree, with Merit and average grade of at least 60% in taught courses and dissertation (or international equivalent)
A certificate of English language proficiency for non-native speakers.
