cardstock paper: yellow and brown

Step 1: Start by painting your paper plate red. Let it dry completely.
Step 2: Use a pencil to draw a big triangle in the middle of the paper plate and then cut it out.
Step 3: Make holes along the three sides of the triangle . Cut a big strand of yarn, thread it through the plastic yarn needle and tie one end to the needle. Secure the other end of the yarn at the back of the paper plate with tape. You can now start threading the green yarn through the holes in the paper plate. Continue until you reach the end of your yarn. If you haven’t threaded through all the holes, you can cut another strand of yarn and follow the same steps as before. (Tie one end to the needle and secure the other hand to the paper plate).
Step 4: Cut the tree trunk from brown cardstock paper and glue it to the bottom of the tree. Add a yellow cardstock paper star at the top of your Christmas tree. Glue it also.

1. Begin by cutting out a triangle from your 12″ x 12″ green cardstock. I found it easiest to draw a line from the center of the top of the paper down to each bottom corner of the paper to make a triangle shape. Then cut out the triangle.
2. Cut out several 2-inch paper circles from your Christmas scrapbook paper and foil cardstock. To make a Christmas bauble we used 5 circles from the foil cardstock or 6 circles from the Christmas scrapbook paper. We used six baubles in all for our paper Christmas tree craft.
3. Fold your paper circles in half with the bottom of the circle facing out. Add glue to one side of the folded circle and glue each of the sections on top of the other to create the 3D bauble. Leave the first and last section of the bauble unattached from each other so you can glue the bauble onto your Christmas tree. Continue folding and gluing the paper circles together until you have six baubles.
4. Cut out a tree star from your yellow cardstock and a tree trunk from your brown cardstock. Glue them onto your triangle paper Christmas tree. Then add glue to the bottom of your paper baubles and glue them onto your tree.
5. Cut out 1/2-inch paper strips from your Christmas scrapbook paper. Add glue to the back and glue them onto your paper Christmas tree craft to look like garland.
Make 3 batches of this recipe – one red, one white and one green. Be sure to change out your scent extract and food coloring for each one!
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Food coloring (red, white and green)
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup salt
Optional – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for the white playdough and 1 teaspoon peppermint extract for the red. If you would like to make the green playdough scented you can also had some peppermint extract to keep it taste safe.
Optional – White food coloring for the white playdough if you want to make your white playdough a bright white and not the natural playdough color.
1. In a large bowl, combine all of your dry ingredients and mix well. Or you can individually add your dry ingredients into the pan for cooking after you add in your wet ingredients.
2. In a large pot, add in the vegetable oil, food coloring and water (add your food coloring to your water first so it’s easier to mix in). Then stir.
3. Now slowly add in your dry ingredients. Cook over medium heat until the dough starts to form and becomes dry. Once it starts to form a ball and looks cooked, remove from the heat.
4. Let your dough cool and then knead. If the dough feels sticky, add more flour. If you would like more scent, you can add a little bit more then knead in. Knead for at least 5 minutes to get a good consistency for your playdough.
