I am a curious person who processes the world by transforming the unimaginable into something empowering and real. I like to empower youth in their art practice, to make decisions and build confidence to change outcomes. I work with students through the lens of art, to understand their innate power and impact they have on the world around them. For example, art that makes others wonder and smile.

Art making requires observation, persistence, discipline, decision making, and reflection. Drawing is a skill that can be accessible to all students with appropriate scaffolds. As a teacher and artist, I strive to develop a studio environment that supports whole student growth and academic development. The art classroom is a place for curiosity and building resilience through visual language. It is also a place to practice problem solving skills, such as making choices, making mistakes and adapting. I strive to support learning through art making, that engages my students to build skills and habits to solve 21st century problems.

My work experience teaching art ranges from K-12. My education experience includes a B.A. from UC Berkeley, and a single subject teaching credential in art from Mills College. I completed my M.A. in Education with an emphasis in teaching at Mills College in 2021. I continue to enjoy learning, teaching art, and making art. I am currently teaching 3-8th grade art in Berkeley, CA.
