So, I am Riley Hensen and I am the owner of Christian Constrictors. First thing first, I am Christian and I have a huge passion for boas. I know my business's name doesn't give it away at all, but I am a proud Christian man with a boa filled dream. So if you are willing, I would like to tell you the story that started Christian Constrictors.
As a child, I always wanted snake as a pet. Though this didn't happen until my 15th birthday in 2018 when I got Kai; a hypo boa. This truly only added fuel to fire of my passion for snakes and all herps alike. From there on, I knew that I would have more boas in my life. As Kai grew, it became apparent that he has a small spinal kink and nasal deformation making him pet quality. Knowing this, I decided that if I was ever going to get
another boa, I would make sure that Kai's health was set first. To do this, I first tested Kai for IBD; which he came back negative, and decided that if I would get another boa, they too would have to have a negative blood test.
This now leads me to the middle of 2021, where I am working part time for the New York Mets and the Port St Lucie
Mets as a camera operator. As an advocator of MorphMarket, I was spending a decent amount of time on the marketplace and their reptile community; which I later became staff on. During this time, I noticed a beautiful Anery ( Type 1 ) Sterling boa that I really liked a lot. I had decided that I wanted to work with Sterling in the future but knew that I couldn't hope for something like that as I was only seventeen years old.
With a lot of conversations, convincing, and hoping my mom said yes to my dream that I could buy that boa and forage my path with the money that I earned working for the Mets.
When the female Anery ( Type 1 ) Sterling came, she was tested for IBD and was quarantined for a total of four months in a different room than Kai. She did come back negative and in perfect health. My sister, Dallas, suggested the name Willow.
I really loved how gentle and filled with grace the name sounded, so I picked that to be her name.
And truly the rest is history. Now, I all I have to do is wait to produce my first litter, and update this then or when I get more females/males.
