Irma is headed toward the southeastern tip of the US right after Hurricane Harvey hit Texas just last week. There have been record earthquakes and this appears to be a record Hurricane. My wife lost a friend named Irma just last week and it sounds like Hurricane Irma is going to be retired based on the Category 5 winds and strength of this one.
Although Hurricanes are very powerful, they have a weakness and that is traveling over land. Hurricanes are also susceptible to moving off course because of other weather patterns and water temperatures. Forecasters have been trying to predict the path Irma will take and so far have caused schools to be canceled and evacuations in areas that may not even see a drop of rain.
Something moving at 16mph and wobbling along cannot be stopped by man, not even slown down. It would seem that something could be made to simulate land and cause the hurrican to weaken. We fight fires and build dams to stop floods, but hurricanes we just brace for the impact.
Sometimes Life Throws Hurricanes at You and All you can do is Brace for the Impact, but When you are anchored in Christ, the Impact will not move you.
Later, there was another hurricane named Maria that hit when one of my spiritual mother's named Maria passed shortly after. Maria and Irma are listed in the top 5 costliest hurricanes ever. Following Christ is very costly, this is why Jesus said a disciple must count the cost. Luke 14:33 says, "those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciple."
The most costliest decision in my life has been following Christ and every year it costs me more! I love it!

She was holding a cardboard sign saying, “I’m hoping to get home on a prayer.” Anything you can give will help.
Well, this sign was not true, because after the Holy Spirit told me to turn around 10 miles up the road to tell her about Jesus, she turned Christ down.
She said her “Cardboard sign” was working just fine for her and she was not willing to turn it in for Jesus. She also added that just because she didn’t believe in Jesus didn’t mean she did not have a higher power. After a few more minutes discussing her higher power she said she needed a cigarette.
I gave her $4 and told her about the significance of the number 5. I expressed to her that there is 1 thing she will need to get Home and until she gets that she will come up short. Without Christ, you are short of God’s grace.
The lady’s name was Hanna, which means “grace” or “favor.” It is so unfortunate that she rejects the grace for her cardboard God and cigarettes. I cannot speak for anyone else, but only Christ For Me.
In Luke 10:16 Jesus says, "“The one who hears you hears me, and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me.”(ESV)
According to Christ, Hanna heard Christ, rejected Christ, and rejected the Father who sent Christ. Christ gets all the credit and takes all the rejection. Pretty cool deal if you ask me.

I continue to see Christ rejected. Most recently I offered to pick up a gentleman around 4am in the morning who was walking the streets on a cold winter morning. He just kept sayin, "I'm good." He was not making a moral judgment of himself, but rather saying that he didn't need anything. The guy looked so stoned, but the sight of me offering him at ride at that time of morning seemed to stir him up more than the drugs he appeared to be high on. He said he was headed for Mauldin so I let him go free. Christ never forced himself on anyone who refused him.

Because of Christ I know I am healed and people sometimes ask why I don’t take medicines and prescriptions from doctors. Most of them have side-effects that are many times worse than what I’m experiencing, so why even deal with the risks.
Through Christ I know that I can persevere in sickness. He has also given us many natural remedies and especially the foods we eat or don’t eat. During sickness I am very careful to starve the disease out by careful fasting, prayer, and extra doses of immune system building drinks and foods. As I reflect back over the last 2 weeks I realize that Christ is still all-sufficient as most of my family was effected by fevers, chills, headaches, sinusitis, bronchitis, and stomach cramps.
We are all well by the grace of God and even though I considered going to see a doctor, it did not have to come to that. I am thankful that God gave me a strong partner that has Christ in her. Two are definitely better than one & a three-fold cord wrapped in the Holy Spirit is not easily broken. No matter what we go through, it is temporary and there will be an after. Even if we die, there is an after!
In Luke 4:23, Jesus tells the doubters in his hometown that they will one day say to him, "physician heal thyself." Healing is not always guaranteed for those who follow Christ, but suffering is! He is with us in the suffering. And without the suffering there is no regining later. Everybody will suffer, but not everyone will reign later. Suffer with Christ -> Reign with Christ. Simple.

Who would believe that I now have a primary care doctor that I go see once per year so far. I never knew how much fun having a doctor would be. My doctor continues to confirm the amazing work that Christ does in my life.

It dawned on me that I had voice recordings saved in an old phone and began to play some back. He remarked at how I needed to be sharing those recordings. I decided he was right and here is the first of those I will share.
The recording was a song called “You Were There” that came to me divinely as I reflected on how he brought me to where I was in 2010. The picture shows one of the security cameras we were setting up using an old desktop that a client was getting ready to throw away. Humble beginnings for sure. Amazing what you can do with somebody else’s trash. I have learned to listen to one Voice. The Voice of Truth. Everything else is background noise.
Jesus is the way, truth, and the life. All the recordings of Jesus in Scripture are precious to me. There are many people that don't believe Jesus is messiah or God that still do not discount His voice.

Now I actually do own an iPhone. Not only does it have voice recognition, but it also has facial recognition. After 2 years it still recognizes my face. I wonder how long it will last before I have to update my face.

A few days later another brother who I had not heard from in over a year sends me a text telling me to keep my eyes on Jesus.
This Word reminded me of Peter who walked on the water and began to sink because He took his eyes off of Jesus. Two timely words for this season of fasting which officially ended on October 31st. November 1st, we are walking on the water!

So sad to see that even after continually blessings and provision from Christ I still took my eyes off of Jesus. I had to remind myself and the people that follow Christ anyone who puts their hand to the plow and looks back is not fit for the Kingdom. (Luke 9:62) Christ is too dependable for us to look backwards.

The C4 Website has been down for quite some time. It has been down far too long in my opinion. Today I reopen a blog that I planned to start 4 years ago. Christ 4 Me is just all about why I chose Christ over the alternatives.
Yesterday I stayed up for about 23 hours and after getting about 2 hours of sleep, battling sickness, and car issues I know it is because of the strength given to me by Jesus Christ I am able to do this. You may call it will-power, guts, determination, ambition, or drive, but I have learned that it is Christ in me.

A lot has happened in 6 years. iWeb is no longer supported by Apple, the Joomla platform that was my bread and butter is also losing its market share and now I am developing on Google Sites. Nothing in technology stays the same for long and even following Christ there are always changes to deal with. In 2013 we only had one vehicle and now we have 4. Not nearly as many car issues, but more vehicles to have issues with. Even with a fairly new vehicle we have problems, but we have learned not to let that stop us. The check engine light is a fear tactic by manufacturers to get you back in their shops every chance they get. I bought a code reader to keep us out of there unless there is a real reason to be there. Sometimes you just have to tighten your gas cap. You don't need the dealer for that and likewise we don't need God for everything. Somethings we can handle ourselves. Christ gave us the ultimate code reader in the person of the Holy Spirit.
