Effective Date: August 13, 2026
Welcome to Chord Transcriber (the “App”). These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and ChengYong Gong (“we”, “us”, or “our”) regarding your download, access, and use of the App.
Please read these Terms and our Privacy Policy carefully before using the App. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
The App provides audio import, photo library video import, local chord recognition, key and rhythm estimation, chord timeline display, guitar fingering display, playback preview, project management, and subscription or purchase access to premium features.
Available features may vary depending on the App version, device capabilities, system permissions, model files, subscription status, and region. We may adjust, suspend, or discontinue certain features based on product planning, technical requirements, or compliance needs.
The App uses on-device models and algorithms to analyze audio content. Recognition results are provided for learning, practice, creative assistance, and reference only. We do not guarantee that results will be accurate, complete, or suitable for professional publishing, performance, exams, copyright determinations, royalty allocation, or other high-risk uses.
You are responsible for reviewing the recognition results and for any use, modification, publication, or commercial activity based on those results.
You may import audio or select videos from your photo library for analysis. You must ensure that you have all rights and permissions necessary to process that content, including the rights to copy, analyze, store, play, export, and share it.
You retain your rights in the content you import or create. The App currently processes this content primarily on your device. You grant the App a limited permission to read, copy, cache, analyze, play, and display your content and analysis results on your device as necessary to provide App functionality.
Before importing any audio or video, you must confirm that you own the content, obtained it lawfully, may lawfully use it, or have received authorization from the relevant rights holder. Even though the App processes content only on your device, this does not mean you may copy, analyze, export, share, or publicly use copyrighted content without permission.
You may not use the App to process, distribute, or share content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, reputation, or other legal rights of any person. You may not use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, circumvention, or rights-violating activities.
The App may offer the following paid products:
Chord Transcriber Monthly PRO: monthly subscription;
Chord Transcriber Yearly PRO: yearly subscription;
Chord Transcriber Life PRO: one-time purchase / lifetime unlock of current premium features.
Actual prices, trials, promotions, taxes, and availability are shown by the App Store.
Auto-renewable subscriptions are charged through your Apple App Store account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period, your subscription will automatically renew. Renewal charges are generally confirmed within 24 hours before the end of the current period. After purchase, you can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. If you cancel, you may continue to access subscription benefits until the end of the paid period.
One-time purchases do not automatically renew, but apply only to the current premium features promised by the App at the time of purchase. Future standalone services, cloud features, additional content, or major new product features may require separate payment unless expressly stated otherwise on the App Store page or in the App.
Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies. We do not directly control Apple’s payment, refund, or subscription management process.
The App may provide limited free usage or limited feature access, and may restrict certain premium recognition, export/sharing, audio tools, or future advanced tools to subscribed or paid users. Free quotas and limits may change by version and are subject to the in-app display.
To enforce quota limits, the App may store relevant usage counts locally on your device. You may not bypass paid restrictions by tampering with your device, modifying app data, circumventing StoreKit verification, or using other abnormal methods.
The App’s software, interface design, interactions, trademarks, icons, text, model integration, compiled artifacts, and other materials are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as allowed by law or expressly authorized by us, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, distribute, rent, sell, sublicense, or otherwise exploit the App or any part of it.
The App includes third-party open-source libraries and model components. You can review relevant license information in Settings - Open Source and Model Licenses. Third-party components remain owned by their respective rights holders.
The App does not grant you any copyright license to musical works, sound recordings, lyrics, videos, or other third-party content. You are solely responsible for the content you import, analyze, export, or share.
If you use recognition results for public release, teaching, commercial creation, notation, or other external uses, you must independently confirm the rights status of the relevant musical content and annotations.
The App’s local recognition feature does not grant you any license to third-party content and does not review the rights status of the content you import. You are solely responsible for any copyright disputes, license fees, infringement liability, or other claims arising from importing, analyzing, exporting, sharing, or using third-party content.
You may not:
use the App in violation of laws or third-party rights;
upload, import, process, or share content you do not have the right to use;
crack the App, bypass subscriptions, interfere with StoreKit verification, or tamper with local data;
maliciously test, attack, or abuse the App, models, interfaces, or system permissions;
use the App in a way that may harm us, Apple, other users, or third parties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, accurate in recognition results, or meet your specific requirements.
Recognition results may contain errors, omissions, or bias due to device performance, system version, audio quality, noise, vocals, mixing, instrumentation, model limitations, or file format differences.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the use of or inability to use the App, including data loss, lost profits, business interruption, copyright disputes, creative losses, or third-party claims.
If we are required by law to bear liability, our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the App during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you paid nothing, liability is limited to the minimum amount permitted by law.
We may modify these Terms due to feature updates, legal requirements, or operational adjustments. Material changes may be communicated through in-app pages, the App Store page, or other reasonable methods. Your continued use of the App means you accept the updated Terms.
If you violate these Terms, we may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to certain App features to the extent permitted by law.
If any dispute arises from these Terms or your use of the App, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it amicably.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer protection rights or legal remedies available to you under the laws of your country or region of residence.
