I would like to thank personally Ms. Sirowich, Ms. Amann, Ms. Rogers, and Ms. Ureta for helping me, pushing me, and teaching me throughout my high school career. Without them as my teachers and people that I can confide in I would not be the student I am today.
What I have learned in high school career is the skills to be in a health care setting. As well as having the ability to have time management skills and balance going to shop while having academic work having to be completed as well as going to academics and having shop work to be done. Wilcox as a school is a different experience and teaches students like myself basic skills to have in the real world.
I believe what I still have to learn is that I can not control every variable in my experiences in my life, but I can control my actions. I also need to learn to not be so hard on myself due to the fact that I am my worst critic.
My high school experience has prepared me to reach my goal by having such a unique schedule. Personally having the ability to have to balance 2 different environments of school and having half a year to complete what other students in other high schools have a year to do is very much challenging. Let alone the fact that I took about 4 college classes in my whole high school career. Not only that, but I also was in the Work Based Learning program. Therefore, during shop I would go to work for a significant amount of time. With this being said Wilcox prepared me to practice the ability to balance multiple variables throughout life at once, teaching me time management skills and communication skills. This will make me successful in my goal of becoming a nurse due to the initial fact that I have been practicing multi-tasking and being flexible throughout my four years at Wilcox.
