WEAVING STARS (2024)
Weaving Stars was commissioned by Tennessee-based flutist and music educator, Julianne Moss to illuminate the challenges and resilience of individuals living with anxiety and depression. This piece features dense, low-end textures and vibrant distortion, enhanced by various electroacoustic effects. The solo flute showcases a virtuosic range of expression across the instrument’s spectrum, while two supporting flutes weave intricate lines that symbolize the process of strengthening and reweaving one’s reality. As the soloist soars above, the work incorporates meditative singing, exploring the rich, vibrant colors produced by the electronics and the flute ensemble, creating a powerful auditory experience reflecting the journey of healing and transformation.

Starbaby... a celestial body; concentrated and vibrant, it illuminates, warms, and protects everything within its glow.
THE FOREST (2022)
What would the forest say if we could amplify its voice? The Forest explores this question through an ambient soundscape, featuring audio samples collected from the West Virginia Botanical Gardens. The improvisatory flute, drawing inspiration from traditional Native American techniques, echoes the natural world, while the synthesized accompaniment evokes the ethereal atmosphere of 1970s-80s New Age music. Together, these elements create a reflective and immersive experience, inviting listeners to hear the whispers of nature’s resilience, wisdom, and quiet power.
PRISMATIC WIND (2021)
Prismatic Wind is an atmospheric work that explores evolving textures, moving between tension and meditative release. Composed in 2021, the piece was born out of a period of personal reflection, using electroacoustic composition to navigate personal feelings. The flute’s contemplative flourishes blend with rhythmic, immersive electronic textures, creating a rich interplay between acoustic and digital realms. The electronics provide a grounding low-end, while the flute floats above with expressive, lyrical gestures. Prismatic Wind serves as a sonic journal, offering a space for introspection and healing, much like a prism refracting light into shifting colors.
