How does the modern social condition facilitate & encourage abuse in order t o entertain the masses? How does this gradual desensitization of violence permanently affect societal attitudes? I focused specifically on content & attitudes towards women in the context of pornography, sex culture & objectification. This question is especially important to me, as I am a fan of sociology, & I am specifically interested in how world events, societal values & entertainment culture, create a perpetual movement of influence on the larger population, especially when pertaining to violent content.

Pieces:

In my investigation, I focus on the female form as an inorganic entity to the audience. The women in m y pieces have no defining features; in my earlier investigations, no faces at all (2,5,8). I want to create juxtaposition b/w sexuality & impersonality, you are both voyeur & victim, watching the perpetual machine of sex & gore. I combine traditional media & techniques, while utilizing a more contemporary style of typography (5, 8, 14). With this experimentation, I encourage the audience to analyze these "characters" psyches, displaying their personal feelings/beliefs on the themes presented.
