Dr. Chinmoy Kumar Hazra is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He previously held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at IIT Delhi from March 2019 to July 2023. Before this appointment, Dr. Hazra was engaged as a postdoctoral scientist under the guidance of Professor Magnus Rueping at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2019). He subsequently completed a second postdoctoral assignment with Professor Sukbok Chang at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea (2018). Additionally, he completed postdoctoral research with Professor Françoise Colobert at the Université de Strasbourg, ECPM in France. Dr. Hazra earned his Doctorate in Philosophy from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in Germany (2013) under the mentorship of Professor Martin Oestreich. He completed his Master of Science in Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, in 2010 and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta, India, in 2007. His research interests are centred on advancing metal-free catalysis, focusing on mechanistic understanding and practical synthetic applications.
