In Canada, more than 100-thousand victims report intimate partner violence to police a year. But it's estimated that up to 70% of victims do not report incidents of intimate partner violence to police. That's likely due in part to the fact that only physical forms of IPV are chargeable offences under Canada's criminal code. So how do judges define intimate partner violence in criminal courts in the prairie provinces - especially when it comes to non-physical forms of abuse?
