Hachiware is also one of the main character in the Chiikawa series. Hachiware is in a trio friend group with Chiikawa and Usagi. Hachiware is the only one of the three main characters who communicates using standard Japanese.

Hachiware isn't based on a real life animal. But from the looks, Hachiware resembles a cat. The trio are referred to small and cute things.
