Self-intro
I joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) as an Assistant Professor in August 2025. Prior to this appointment, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the StranksLab at the University of Cambridge, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, working under the supervision of Prof. Sam D. Stranks. My research focused on polymeric nanocomposite matrices for optoelectronic materials, including organic solar cells and halide-perovskite scintillators (2023–2025, UK). The scintillator project was conducted in close collaboration with and supervised by Prof. Paul J. Sellin at the University of Surrey.
I received my Ph.D. in Chemistry from ETH Zurich, where I worked on wearable luminescent solar concentrators under the supervision of Dr. Luciano F. Boesel at Empa (Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology) and Prof. Maksym V. Kovalenko at ETH Zurich (2018–2022, CH). I earned my M.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), where I was supervised by Prof. Cheng‑Liang Huang and Prof. Shih‑Kang Lin on the DFT-assisted design of energy transfer in phosphor materials (2014-2016, TW). My B.S. was in MSE at NCKU with a bachelor's project supervised by Prof. Jaw-Lay Huang, working on CVD graphene transistors (2010-2014, TW).
During my academic training, I also had a 3-month Ph.D. exchange (2019, SERI CH) at Fudan University, working with Prof. Xuemei Sun in the Peng Group on wearable light harvestors, and a 3-month master’s exchange (2016, VSRP SA) at KAUST under the supervision of Prof. Udo Schwingenschlögl, focusing on first-principles design of 2D gas sensors.
I have extensive experience and training in Materials Science, particularly in soft nanomaterials, photonic energy transfer, and the design of functional materials for optoelectronic and energy applications.
