Chief Peshewa Society

Chief Peshewa Society was organized on November 22, 1996 in Howard County Indiana. The organization was a special project of Cynthia Stout who was the chapter regent at the time. The society was sponsored by the General James Cox Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. The Society was organized with 12 members. The special event was held at the Kokomo Shrine Club. The Society was very pleased to have the Mayor of Kokomo, the Honorable James Trobaugh bring greetings. The Sons of the American Revolution Color Guard lead the processional and recessional. This society officially disbanded in 2024.

Opportunities/Activities

• Develop leadership skills.

• Attend the Indiana State Conference.

• Attend Regional Meetings and National Conventions.

• Take trips to historic places.

• Have pool, beach, or pizza parties.

• Meet young people from all across the country and exchange ideas with them.

• Participate in historical reenactments such as the Koh-Koh-Mah & Foster Living History Encampment. 

• Participate in national and state contests and earn prizes.
