Haynes Apperson Festival

Saturday, July 2, 2022

Members along with General James Cox Chapter, DAR members participated in the Kokomo Haynes Apperson Day parade to celebrate our country's independence and our city's automotive heritage. Members gave American flag pins, red, white, and blue wrapped bubble gum, and American flags to parade attendees.

Memorial Day Ceremony

Monday, May 30, 2022

Chief Peshewa Society members participated in the Memorial Day ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial Park in Kokomo Indiana. The members placed a wreath to honor those who have served our country.

Koh-Koh-Mah & Foster Living History Encampment

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sep 17, 18, and 19 , 2021

Chief Peshewa members participated with General James Cox Chapter, DAR at the Koh-Koh-Mah and Foster Living History Encampment. Members showed children how to play with toys from the 1700s while promoting C.A.R. And DAR membership. This will be the last year of reenactments at Koh-Koh-Mah and will be greatly missed by our members.

C.A.R. First Day of Service

On May 1, 2021 Members of Chief Peshewa Society and General James Cox Chapter DAR picked up trash at Northwest park for the C.A.R. First Day of service. We also had our first business meeting for the new C.A.R. year. We want to thank City of Kokomo Parks & Recreation Department Park Foreman Jeff Cardwell for helping us schedule a day and Dave and Josh for providing us with bags, gloves, and pickers.

C.A.R. and DAR Deliver Holiday items to Local Veterans

December 2020 Chief Peshewa society, Children of the American Revolution and General James Cox chapter DAR members collected and donated holiday items to the Jackson Street Commons residents such as gloves, hats, coffee, holiday treats and cards to thank them for their service to our country. Jackson Street Commons, provides permanent housing and supportive services too veterans.

Donating Pet Supplies

On Saturday, September 26th Chief Peshewa Society members, Children of the American Revolution donated pet supplies such as food and treats to the Kokomo Humane Society for the National Presidents project Pets for Vets. The supplies are used to feed the animals in the shelter and the Pet Community Bank which helps feed pets in the community. The Humane Society is a Veteran friendly business.

Wreaths Across America Day

On December 14th Chief Peshewa members with General James Cox Chapter DAR members participating in National Wreaths Across America Day. Members volunteered in a wreath-laying ceremony and honored former DAR member Peggy Hobbs for her service.
